Alexander Milinikov

Prof. Dr. Alexander Milnikov was born on October 2, 1946 in Tbilisi. In 1965-1970 he graduated from the Faculty of Automation and Remote Control, Department of Electronics of the Georgian Technical University. In 1974-1976 he studied at Doctorate Program (aspirantura) at the Tbilisi Technical University and in 1978 he defended the thesis “Mathematical modeling of the Dynamic of Electromagnetic Vibrators” for the Ph.D degree (degree of Candidate of Sciences).

In 2002 he defended thesis “Development of theoretical foundations of computation of full spectrum of multidimensional oscillatory systems Eigen values” for the degree of Doctor of Sciences.

His work experience is mainly connected with R. Dvali Research Institute of Mechanics of Machines of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, the Georgian Technical University and International Black Sea University. At the R. Dvali Research Institute of Mechanics of Machines he has worked as a Senior Researcher and from 1996 and up to day as Principal Researcher.  

In 1996 till present he has been a Professor at the International Black Sea University. In 2005-2008 he was also a Dean of Engineering faculty of the International Black Sea University.

Professor A. Milnikov has participated in more than 15 Scientific Symposiums and Conferences in Georgia and abroad. He held the Scientific Grant of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia in 2011-2012.

Professor A. Milnikov supervised 10 successfully defended Ph.D. theses (among them – 8 at the International Black Sea University) and several Master theses. He is the author of 1 monograph, he has about 100 publications in scientific journals, books and proceedings, 20 of them – in international citation indexed journals.

Professor A. Milnikov is an official Reviewer of American Mathematical Society and is a permanent Plenary Lecturer of Word Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society (WSEAS) and North Atlantic Universities Union (NAUN).
