Research Focus

 

The Direction of Education carries out research in the following areas: theoretical (pedagogical, psychological, philosophic) issues of the educational process as well as innovative practices in education and English language teaching. Such issues as teaching / study motivation, classroom and institutional management and leadership, globalization in education are of special interest. The academic staff participates in various conferences concerning these issues, their papers are published in conference proceedings and journals. They regularly participate in the Conference on Education, English Language Teaching, English Language and Literatures in English organized by the faculty and the Silk Road International Conference, publish their research in the Journal of Education. MA and PhD research also plays a great role in the research priorities.The Direction of Philology carries out research in the following areas: English (literature, linguistics) and Turkish (literature, linguistics) Philology. The academic staff participates in various conferences concerning these issues, their papers are published in conference proceedings and journals. They regularly participate in the Conference on Education, English Language Teaching, English Language and Literatures in English organized by the faculty and the Silk Road International Conference, publish their researches in the Journal of Education and Journal of Humanities. MA and PhD research also plays a great role in the research priorities.

The Direction of American Studies carries out research in the following areas: American politics, economy, society, culture, gender studies, and literature.  No longer can we remain encapsulated in a world of our “own kind”. Interacting with overseas scientists, gaining scientific knowledge and the ability to interact with people of other cultures through scientific research conferences and scientific journals is vital for our success in the modern world. American Studies program facilitates this process by inviting American Fulbright Scholars every year via the U.S. Embassy in Georgia to deliver lectures on different issues and exchange ideas with Georgian Scholars. The academic staff participates in various conferences concerning the above issues, their papers are published in conference proceedings and journals. They regularly participate in the Conference on American Studies organized by the faculty and the Silk Road International Conference, publish their research in the Journal of Humanities.
