On September 27,\u00a0director of the Malta Institute of Tourism, Professor Simon Caruana conducted a workshop\u00a0entitled\u00a0“The Impact of Covid 19 on the Entertainment Industry”\u00a0within a framework of\u00a0International Tourism Day,\u00a0organized by the IBSU Tourism Program.<\/p>\n
During\u00a0the meeting, the\u00a0presenter\u00a0spoke about the Covid-19\u00a0effects\u00a0in the tourism sector, challenges faced by the sector, specifically\u00a0–\u00a0the entertainment industry. Simon Caruana\u00a0has also elaborated on\u00a0the new trends of\u00a0global\u00a0tourism\u00a0in the context of pandemics.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo go back to what is being called the \u2018new normal\u2019, there needs to be better coordination between all the countries. Travelers need to be informed in advance of changes in the conditions for travel \u2013 e.g. whether to quarantine or not etc. in order to plan accordingly. However, travelers must be aware that countries may be forced to change regulations quickly in order to counter a spike in Covid infections.\u201d – Simon Caruana said.<\/p>\n
“IBSU continues the tradition\u00a0and joins\u00a0the UN World Tourism Organization’s\u00a0initiative\u00a0–\u00a0“Tourism for Inclusive Growth”\u00a0as part of the\u00a0World Tourism Day 2021 and hold\u00a0a workshop.\u00a0Various\u00a0events with the\u00a0involvement\u00a0of students are held every year within the framework of the bachelor program of Georgian and English\u00a0Tourism\u00a0sectors\u00a0at the University. Despite the challenges of Covid-19, students of the field are actively involved in the planned activities\u00a0at\u00a0the university or virtual environment\u201d\u00a0–\u00a0said Eka Devidze, Head of the Bachelor Tourism Program.<\/p>\n
