Organized by the American Studies Students&#8217; Union under the initiative and leadership of Art Arakelian, the event featured engaging panel discussions, intellectual trivia games, and a film screening, providing attendees with a platform for meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The event commenced with an opening ceremony followed by two-panel discussions. Prof. Dr. Tamar Shioshvili, Dean of the School of Education &amp; Humanities and head of the American Studies BA and PhD Programs, gave the presentation &#8220;Civil Rights and Colin Powell as the Manifestation of the American Dream&#8221;.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tea Chumburidze, Head of the MA Program in US Foreign Affairs, delved into the &#8220;Shared Historical Experiences of Native and African Americans&#8221;, offering unique insights and perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the event was the keynote address by Prof. Lela Abdushelishvili, who discussed the translation of &#8220;Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave&#8221;.
