Students of the only English-taught multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary American Studies program in Georgia, together with the Program Head, Professor Tamar Shioshvili, hosted Stefano Ercolano, a representative of the Istituto Europeo di Design, at International Black Sea University on May 8.<\/p>\n

The visit was directly related to the academic content of the American Studies program. The curriculum includes the course Visual Arts and Web Design, taught by program alumna and young academic staff member, Dr. Nino Zaalishvili. As part of the course, students explore the history and dynamics of the achievements of the Italian ethnic group in the United States, particularly in the field of design.<\/p>\n

The meeting was also attended by IBSU Vice President Goderdzi Buchashvili and Head of the Research Department Tea Kbiltsetskhlashvili. They introduced the guest to the university\u2019s international cooperation initiatives and discussed prospects for future partnership and joint projects with the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan.<\/p>\n

The visit was significant both for the students and for the university, as it once again highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the American Studies program and underscored the importance of developing international academic collaboration.<\/p>\n
