Pink October at IBSU: Charity Event Pink Link
Black Sea International University hosted a charity event dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness – Pink Link, organized by the student association The Med Linkers in collaboration with Angels of Hope (Pink Space).
The event actively involved IBSU’s School of Medicine students, who participated in both the organizational and charitable aspects of the initiative.
The program included a variety of educational and interactive activities:
– Presentations on mastectomy and post-surgery skin reconstruction;
– A powerful story shared by a breast cancer survivor, who now inspires and empowers others;
– A scientific presentation on the “sleeping cells” of breast cancer;
– Engaging activities such as games organized by five partner organizations, film screenings, and a Pink Ribbon Hunt across the campus.
All charitable funds raised during the event were donated by students to the Angels of Hope (Pink Space) foundation.
October is internationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, also known as Pink October. The pink ribbon has become a universal symbol of the campaign, which aims to promote awareness about the early detection of breast cancer symptoms, encourage regular self-examinations, and highlight the importance of screening.
