Constitutional and Supreme Court judges deliver public lecture to law and state governance students
Constitutional Court Judge Irine Imerlishvili and Supreme Court Judge Ekaterine Gasitashvili have delivered a public lecture on Georgia’s judicial system at the International Black Sea University.
The event focused on ‘Judicial Authority in Georgia’ and examined the differences between constitutional and common courts.
Speaking to students and attendees, Dr Irakli Shamatava, Dean of the School of Law and State Governance, said that public lectures are frequently tailored around student interests and seek to prepare highly trained professionals for the employment market.
The judges discussed judicial standards, court appointment procedures, and highlighted significant legal decisions from their extensive experience on the bench.
Students participated in a Q&A, with the judges providing expert insights on various legal matters.
The lecture forms part of the university’s efforts to connect students with leading practitioners in Georgia’s judicial system.
