11.10.2024

IBSU School of Computer Science and Architecture hosted HTW Dresden students, a leading professor-mentor from the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, Prof. Mario Neugebauer, and International Office representative Lisa Wunderlich.

A two-day “Georgian-German Roundtable 2024,” included Georgian and German students presenting computer engineering and architectural projects. Their projects sparked a lot of attention and conversation, which culminated in a great round table discussion that led to many new ideas. Georgian and German students will enhance their projects and submit them to local and international competitions.

During the recent meeting, the IBSU International Relations Department warmly welcomed all attendees and delivered a presentation of an insightful overview of the existing relations between HTW Dresden and IBSU, outlining the various collaborative efforts and projects undertaken by both institutions. This included joint research initiatives, student exchange programs, and faculty collaborations, which have enriched the academic experiences at both universities.

The projects covered various domains, among them, innovative computer games, a social network (new platform) for exchanging ideas and events, a unified portal for book repositories in Georgia, databases that describe particular services for oncology clinics, algorithms for identifying human emotions, virtual museums, modern architectural solutions while planning structures and spaces, correct color and material selection in architecture, and the utilization of advanced technologies, AI-based personalized diet plans and recommendations and many more.

During the two-day visit, Georgian and German students also visited Uplistsikhe, one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus. Since 2019, the IBSU School of Computer Science and Architecture has been hosting an annual international master class/workshop as part of a long-standing collaboration with the HTW Dresden – University of Applied Sciences.
