Italian professor Andreas Sitorengo conducted workshops for IBSU students

Andreas Sitorengo, Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of West Attica’s Department of Interior Architecture delivered workshops and training for the International Black Sea University students.

The Italian professor covered the following areas:

  • The significance of duration and timing in projection for achieving impactful audiovisual effects on volumetric surfaces
  • The role of sound in the virtual transformation of space and its components
  • The art and power of symbols as a communicative language
  • The interplay between the real and digital worlds
  • A historical overview of projection mapping applications in architecture
  • Interactive applications in art and architectural projection mapping
  • A review of projection mapping in the performing arts, including dance and theatre
  • The use of projection mapping as a backdrop and in animation
  • Technical aspects of projection, including lighting intensity, projection adjustment, surface flatness, tonality, color variations, object movement prediction, and surface adaptation
  • An introduction to computer programs for projection mapping, as well as audio and animation editing features
  • Insights into the Processing programming language

Andreas Sitorengo’s extensive experience includes notable exhibitions such as “Places of Presence” at ZEON (2009), “Dry Psyche” at the Municipal Gallery of Heraklion (2010), and “Placenta” at FIZZ Gallery (2012). Additionally, he has been involved in the canonization of churches across Greece, Cyprus, and Korea.
