Graphic Design (English-taught)

Program Objective

The goal of the three-year English-language bachelor’s program is to develop the student’s ability to create functional complex graphic solutions. You’ll master the art of creating compelling visual identities – from logos and typography to full corporate styles and impactful advertising, as well as market research, segmentation, competitive analysis and related marketing processes.

We go beyond theory, equipping students with essential knowledge in branding, advertising and visual communication (both traditional and digital). You’ll develop your creative color skills and understand the functional aspects of design, alongside art history and theory to develop technical and professional skills in order to be able to successfully apply the acquired knowledge in accordance with the requirements of modern graphic design.

It is important that the program allows students to gain practical experience through internships and hone communication skills to effectively present ideas to colleagues and clients by articulating the essence and idea of ​​the project.

Admission Preconditions:

The entrant is enrolled in the bachelor’s educational program per the rules established by the legislation of Georgia – based on the results of the Unified National Examinations.

The main subjects to be passed are the Georgian language and English language. The third subject is Mathematics, History, Fine & Applied Arts. The minimum competency level for the English language: is 50%+1.

English-language graphic design program includes two components:

a) a portfolio presented by the candidate;

b) a “free composition” exam;

The portfolio presented by the candidate includes:

1. Black and white graphic work – 3 drawings (material – pencil, ink, black felt-tip pen, etc. The format of the work must not exceed A3);

2. Work done in color – 3 drawings (material: watercolor, tempera, gouache, colored pencil, pastel, colored markers, acrylic, mixed media is allowed; the format of the work should not exceed A3);

3. Free work that demonstrates his/her individual creative abilities – 3 drawings (the format of the work should not exceed A3);

Exam “Free Composition”:

  • Free graphic (black and white) composition;
  • The work is done in A3 format (material: black pencil, ink pen, black felt-tip pen, etc.);
  • The maximum total score of the work will be 48 points;

Enrollment by mobility is carried out twice a year. Internal mobility is carried out within the deadlines determined by the order of the Rector of the University (for detailed information, see the following link www.ibsu.edu.ge). External mobility is carried out by the LEPL – National Center for Education Quality Development (for detailed information, see the following link: www.eqe.ge).

A person with a full general education has the right to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program. Enrollment in cases provided by law is possible per the rules established by law, without passing the Unified National Examinations. A person with complete general education has the right to enroll in a bachelor’s program. In cases provided for by law, enrollment is possible in accordance with the procedure established by law, without passing the Unified National Exams.

Tuition Fees:

For entrants who are enrolled via Unified National Exams: 4590 GEL
For entrants who are not enrolled via Unified National Exams: 4500 USD
