As a Computer Science student, MIT is a place of innovation for me—where technological ideas are transformed into business models.
StartMIT is a startup acceleration program where experienced entrepreneurs and professional speakers share their expertise and teach us how to develop a startup from the idea stage to implementation. Every topic covered within the program was highly engaging. I would particularly highlight the sessions on target audience identification, Product-Market Fit (PMF), and pitching.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology made a profound impression on me. The speakers were among the most accomplished and distinguished figures in their respective fields, which made interacting with them especially valuable.
I was truly impressed by their openness and approachability. Each of them shared personal experiences, including failures, challenges, and achievements. Listening to their stories and participating in open Q&A sessions taught me how to avoid potential mistakes and remain more consistent and strategic throughout the startup development process.
International Black Sea University, within the framework of its partnership with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), offers students and academic staff a unique opportunity to gain unlimited access to MIT’s digital platform – ORBIT, one of the world’s most innovative educational and practical tools for entrepreneurship and startup development.
ORBIT is a digital entrepreneurship ecosystem developed by MIT, specifically designed for the rapid acquisition of knowledge regarding technological startups. The platform aims to structure the entire process – from initial ideation to market entry – while facilitating the timely identification of risks and the planning of strategic milestones.
What Opportunities Does ORBIT Provide for IBSU Students and Faculty?
The platform integrates world-class expertise and technological tools accessible to startups at any stage of development:
IBSU’s mission is to foster the development of entrepreneurial culture in Georgia. Through the partnership with MIT and the implementation of the ORBIT platform, IBSU students and academic personnel gain a unique competitive advantage – the ability to create businesses oriented toward the global market using international standards.

The goal of the project was to increase the interest of universities and students in innovations and technologies. Within the framework of the internal competition, students worked around a specific project topic, developed and correctly positioned their ideas. The participating teams presented solutions in the direction of green economy and renewable resources. The issues discussed included increasing the efficiency of solar and thermal energy, energy use of waste, monitoring energy consumption, recycling of construction waste and improving green mobility. During the competition, students were mentored by specialists from various fields, which helped them refine and further develop their ideas.
