Beverly Phiri is International student at International Black Sea University.
My name is Beverly Phiri, and I’m from Malawi. I’m part of the School of Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences at International Black Sea University. My journey here has been life-changing. Originally, I studied development communication, but I decided to take a bold step and switch careers to pursue international relations. This decision was driven by my passion for global affairs, and it has opened up so many exciting opportunities.
From the very beginning, I was welcomed into a vibrant international community that encouraged curiosity and learning. The faculty at IBSU has been incredibly supportive, helping me transition smoothly into this new field. They guided me in developing critical thinking and analytical skills, which have been key to my growth.
IBSU has also given me the chance to collaborate with students from diverse backgrounds, broadening my perspective and boosting my confidence to engage in global discussions. Looking back, making the career switch was a big leap, but it was absolutely the best decision I could have made.
I’m really grateful for everything IBSU has provided—not just a great education but also the inspiration and support to chase my dreams. I’m excited about the future and eager to make a positive impact on the world.
