Award-winning Japanese designer lectures at IBSU

The IBSU School of Computer Science and Architecture has hosted a public lecture by award-winning Japanese designer Nao Tokuda.

Architecture students and academic staff attended the event, which comes after a year of active collaboration between Tokuda and students on the architecture programme.

The visit was arranged with help from David Asanidze, winner of the “Architectural Award 2024”, who is currently studying at the university.

During the lecture, Tokuda presented several projects implemented in Georgia and shared research findings on the similarities and unique characteristics of Japanese and Georgian architectural styles.

The presentation was followed by a discussion about the importance of sustainable architecture and current trends in the field.

The second part of the event was dedicated to an exhibition of ongoing student projects, with attendees planning future collaborations and joint initiatives.
