From February 22–27, 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ academic mobility program, a delegation of professors from the International Black Sea University (IBSU) paid an official visit to the University of Seville (Spain).
The delegation included Professor Tamar Shioshvili, Dean of the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences; Associate Professor Tea Kbiltsetskhlashvili, Head of the Department of Research and International Projects; and Professor Eka Avaliani, Head of the Multidisciplinary Research Center.
During the visit, IBSU representatives met with professors and administrative staff of the University of Seville, including Professor Carolina Márquez, Professor Daniel Cores, Professor Pedro Miguel de Caraijosa, and Professor Fernando Lozano Gómez, as well as representatives of the International Office and faculty leadership.
As part of the visit, the Georgian professors delivered public lectures, attended by professors, academic staff, and students of the University of Seville. As a result of the meetings and working discussions, the parties outlined new directions for cooperation and planned several joint initiatives and projects.
The planned initiatives include strengthening student and faculty mobility, developing joint scientific research and academic publications, cooperating in international grant-funded projects, and expanding internship opportunities.
These initiatives will contribute to strengthening international academic partnerships, advancing collaborative research, and creating new global opportunities for students.
