Hackathon is a coding event, which brings computer programmers and other interested people together to work on a project intensively, to create or update a software program.

Students of the Faculty of Computer Technologies and Engineering are actively participating in hackathons held in Georgia or Abroad.

In October 2017 in the scope of DAAD University-Business Partnership program first hackathon was held in International Black Sea University. Students were given a task to make a project on Raspberry Pi. They experienced working with smart technologies, wrote programmes on Python  Programming Language and integrated them with Raspberry Pis. Winners were awarded by representatives of German University of Applied Science with Raspberry Pi devices and certificates
