IBSU attended the Coordination Meeting of the Consortium members of the project “Computer Social Sciences for Development”
A coordination meeting of the consortium members of the project entitled “Computational Social Sciences for Development (CSS4D)”, which won the contest announced by the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF), was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The project members from both Georgia and Sweden participated in the meeting.
Official representatives of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, the International Black Sea University, Akaki Tsereteli State University and Linköping University (Sweden) introduced the general activities and main research directions of the universities to the audience;
The second part of the coordination meeting was devoted to the presentation by Swedish colleagues of the trends in the development of computational social sciences in the European academia. The project partner, Linköping University, is the first in Europe to create a master’s program in “Computational Social Sciences”. During the meeting, Jacob Hebinek presented their Master’s program and introduced its structure.
The project “Computational Social Sciences for Development (CSS4D)” is being implemented in partnership with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, International Black Sea University, Akaki Tsereteli State University and Linköping University (Sweden). The project is being implemented with the funding of the World Bank and the support of the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) grant program.
The Vice Rector for Research of the International Black Sea University, Ms. Tea Kbiltsetskhlashvili, made a presentation on the activities and research directions of the university; from the International Black Sea University, the Vice Rector for Quality, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nino Jojua, Head of the Public Administration and State Governance Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tamar Kakutia and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Temur Gugushvili participated in the event.
In addition, during the meeting, the project leader, Ioseb Salukvadze, and the project manager, Dr. Gvantsa Salukvadze, shared information about the progress of the project and focused on the main achievements to date and future activities. During the meeting, the project co-leader, Professor Temur Gugushvili, presented to the consortium members the main findings and results of the survey of students and graduates conducted within the framework of the project.
