IBSU and Zwickau University: First Graduates of the Double Degree Master’s Program “Management and Information Technologies”
On December 12, the School of Computer Science and Architecture of the International Black Sea University (IBSU) celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the double-degree Master’s program “Management and Information Technologies,” along with the public defense of the students’ final theses.
The Master’s thesis defenses were conducted with the participation of an international examination committee, composed of faculty members from both IBSU and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (Germany). The defense sessions were attended by students of the second and third cohorts of the program, academic staff, and invited guests. The defenses were held in a hybrid format, which facilitated active academic discussion. According to the evaluation of the committee, all presented theses demonstrated a high academic standard and were assessed with the highest grades.
Following the defenses, the event continued in a ceremonial format for the graduates. The Rector of the University, Professor Gia Kavtelishvili, along with Vice-Rectors and invited guests, congratulated the students on the successful completion of the program and the achievement of receiving two diplomas — from the International Black Sea University and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau.
The double-degree Master’s program “Management and Information Technologies” was developed between 2020 and 2023 through a partnership between IBSU and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau. Since 2023, the program has been continuously operating as a unique English-taught double-degree Master’s program, combining modern management approaches with practical knowledge in information technologies.
