A third-year Journalism student from the International Black Sea University (IBSU), Nestan Arabuli, achieved remarkable success as her short film “Home” won in two categories – “Best Editing” and “Best Cinematography” – at the “International Youth Smart Film Festival!
In addition, Nestan’s work was selected as a favorite by one of the festival’s guest jury members – John Heshata, an Egyptian film director and visual effects specialist.
“Home” reflects the search for balance within oneself amid a stressful reality. It explores how our perspective shapes our experience – whether we allow external stress to penetrate our inner world or continue life in an unstable environment by mobilizing inner peace.
The festival, titled “Adjara Cinema Stories”, took place on October 14–16 in Upper Adjara. Participants created their short films using mobile phones, and out of twenty selected finalists by Georgian and international juries, two were awarded the Grand Prix.
