IBSU hosted H.E. Mr. Imamura Akira Ambassador of Japan to Georgia

IBSU hosted H.E. Mr. Imamura Akira Ambassador of Japan to Georgia. Mr. Ambassador visited the University at the invitation of International Relations and Japanese Culture Student Clubs.

During the visit, Mr. Ambassador met with the university’s Rector, Saffet Bayraktutan, and conducted a lecture for students on “Modern Challenges of World Diplomacy”. Within the lecture, the Ambassador discussed the history of Japan’s development, the main challenges facing modern Japan and the world, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the history of Japanese-Georgian diplomacy.

Ambassador of Japan, along with the University Rector and students, also participated in planting of sakura trees in the courtyard of IBSU campus.

Mr. Ambassador also spoke to the students in an informal setting, answered their questions openly, talked about his impressions of Georgia and his own experience.
