Dr. Goga Kikilashvili is visiting Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania

Dr. Goga Kikilashvili, affiliated Professor of the School of Law and State Governance at International Black Sea University, visited the Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania (Italy), as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching Programme, funded by the European Union.

The visit included several working meetings, as well as initiating joint academic projects in cooperation with Georgian and Italian universities, state agencies, and professional associations and carrying out preparatory activities. The working meetings were held with the support of the Director of the Political Sciences Department of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli Francesco Eriberto d’Ippolito, Prof. Ida Caracciolo (Chair of International Law and a judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS)), Prof. Gian Maria Piccinelli and Prof. Andrea Borroni (Chairs of Comparative Private Law), and Dr. Fabio Zambardino.

As part of the thematic events at the host university, Professor Kikilashvili delivered a master lecture to students of doctoral programs on the topic “Application of ADR for Disputes with Special Interest of the State, Basically in the Fields of Energy, Environment and Disputes with Social Elements – Georgian Experience in Global Context”.

It is worth noting that this is not the first successful collaboration between Prof. Borroni and Prof. Kikilashvili. They have implemented a number of joint activities in previous years and are currently working on a Practical Handbook on Alternative Dispute Resolution within the framework of the grant program of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

Among successful collaborations should be distinguished several conferences and trainings chaired by Prof. Borroni at the Training Center of Justice of Georgia and at the International Black Sea University with participation of Prof. Kikilashvili with the support of the Dean of the School of Law and State Governance of the same university, Prof. Irakli Shamatava (2023-2025); creation of a monograph at the European University Viadrina (Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany) within the framework of an EU Research Mobility Programme (2023); Publication of a conference paper titled “Perspectives of Considering AI as a Copyright Owner” in the volume “Atti del Convegno High-level dialogues: Europe as the gateway to foster collaboration across Asia, Latin America, and MENA” edited by Andrea Borroni, resulting from the conference, High-Level Dialogues: Europe as the Gateway to Foster Collaboration Across Asia, Latin America, and MENA, 2025.

Reasonable part of the ongoing and previous visits was devoted to cultural and touristic activities in order to support cultural exchange and strengthen interpersonal connections amongst academics.
