IBSU hosted scientific event titled “Science and Society”
11.11.2024International Black Sea University (IBSU) hosted a scientific event titled “Science and Society” marking World Science Day for Peace and Development on November 10th.
The event aimed to highlight recent scientific advancements, bring society and science closer and underscore science’s pivotal role in societal development.
IBSU Rector Kakha Shengelia opened the event, emphasizing the significance of science and the importance of supporting both academics and emerging researchers.
Professor Dr. Tea Kbiltsetskhlashvili, Vice Rector for Research, presented the university’s strategic vision for scientific research, outlining the university’s vision, research approaches, and future initiatives.
The event was structured around three key panels:
– Panel One featured presentations from academic staff and young scientists on cutting-edge trends, achievements and their practical applications
– Panel Two explored the role of artificial intelligence
– Panel Three showcased scientists’ perspectives on developing research potential
The event sought to stress the importance of science for society, facilitating knowledge transfer and experience sharing among participants.
