External mobility for fall semester of 2025–2026 academic year

Mobility Phases:

  • August 25 – September 9, 2025 (by 18:00) – Registration on the electronic portal of the Education Management Information System (https://students.emis.ge/) and mobility fee payment
  • August 26 – September 17, 2025 – Submission of the required documentation to the International Black Sea University 
  • September 12 – September 19, 2025 – Credit recognition process
  • September 12 – September 19, 2025 – Confirmation (acceptance/refusal) of the proposed conditions 
  • September 12 – September 22, 2025 – Electronic submission of legal document drafts to the educational institution registry

After confirming the mobility process through the portal,  students must submit the following documents to IBSU between August 26 and September 17, 2025:

  • Application form
  • Original or certified copy of the document(s) regulating student status (e.g., enrollment/reinstatement/suspension/termination);
  • Official transcript with grades and credits certified with the signature and stamp of the authorized person of the university;
  • Copy of the applicant’s ID card;
  • Certified copy of the document confirming full general education and/or the previous level of higher education;
  • Two passport-size photos (3×4 cm), both printed and in electronic format;
  • For male students: a document confirming military registration;
  • For applicants transferring to master’s or doctoral levels: if presenting a diploma obtained through a program of at least five years as defined by the Georgian “Law on Higher Education”, a recognition document confirming equivalence to the appropriate level must also be submitted, issued according to legislation.

Note:

If the diploma was issued by a foreign institution, it must be recognized by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) and accompanied by a notarized translation.

Important!

Mobility at the bachelor’s or master’s level is only possible in a program corresponding to:

  • The type of Unified Master’s Exam test taken before 2020;
  • The third (compulsory) elective course taken in the Unified National Exams (for students who passed from 2020 onward);

Submission and registration of documents must be done through the Student Affairs and Registry Office. The student is responsible for the accuracy of all submitted documents.

When transferring from a Georgian-taught to an English-taught program, students must confirm their English language proficiency.

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

For Bachelor’s Programs:

  • A minimum score in English in the Unified National Exams as defined for the relevant academic year, or
  • A B1 level certification 

For Master’s Programs:

Must meet the program’s English language requirement. This may be demonstrated by:

  1. a) An international English language certificate;
    b) A document proving completion of a component taught in English with B2/C1 level learning outcomes;
    c) A diploma from an English-language academic program completed within the last three years;
    d) Passing an internal university English exam if no B2 level is confirmed via diploma.

For Doctoral Programs:

Must meet the English language requirement determined by the program. This may be demonstrated by:

  1. a) An international English language certificate;
    b) Passing the university’s English proficiency exam;
    c) A document confirming completion of a study component in English at the required level;
    d) A diploma from an English-taught academic program completed in the last three years, including academic degree confirmation.

Final Step:

Applicants admitted via mobility must confirm their acceptance or refusal of the university’s offer between September 13–19, 2025.

If accepted, the student must sign a consent form at IBSU confirming:

  • Credit recognition as outlined in the credit comparison document;
  • Their intent to continue studies at IBSU under the mobility rule;
