IBSU is the only Georgian private university that Egypt has considered as an internationally ranked university
The International Black Sea University (IBSU) is the only private Georgian university among the internationally selected Georgian universities chosen by the Egyptian Higher Education Council and its diplomas are recognized by the Ministry of Education of Egypt.
According to an official letter sent by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia to the International Black Sea University, the Egyptian Higher Education Council has decided that Egyptian students studying abroad will have to submit documents to their country, which will allow them to study only at internationally ranked universities.
“According to Mr. Khalid Abdel Ghafari, in the case of Georgia, the experts chose the following five universities: Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgian Technical University, Tbilisi Medical University, Ilia State University and the International Black Sea University,” – says in an official letter sent to IBSU by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
Currently, approximately 400 Egyptian students study in Georgia on both undergraduate and graduate programs. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Arab Republic of Egypt Mikheil Tigishvili met with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghafar and discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of education between the two countries.
