The International Black Sea University (IBSU) has hosted its 15th Annual International Research Conference on American Studies.

The conference, organised by IBSU’s School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences in collaboration with the US Embassy in Georgia, featured addresses from Robin Dunnigan, US Ambassador to Georgia; Dean and Associate Professor Tamar Shioshvili, who heads the undergraduate and doctoral programmes in American Studies; Lauren Williamson, representing the Fulbright Programme; and American Studies students.

Georgian, American and European scholars presented multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary papers covering all aspects of American life. Alongside professorial contributions, research by outstanding undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students was also showcased, providing considerable encouragement to our future young academics.
