IBSU School of Law and State Governance and the Faculty of Law of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland implemented a joint student project – “The European Union Legal Act and the Possibilities of its Implementation in Poland and Georgia”. The project was implemented by Assoc. Professor Ekaterine Bakaradze within the course “English for Specific Purposes, Law – B2” with support of the Dean of the School of Law and State Governance, Prof. Irakli Shamatava, and the Administrative Director of the BA and MA programs in Law, Kristine Kardava.
The project aimed at improving legal English, oral and written competency, developing legal research and comparative legal analysis, and promoting intercultural communication. The participant students discussed the current issue of labour law – the proposal of the Directive of the European Parliament and the Council “On Improving Working Conditions in Platform Work” and wrote joint articles. The project implementer, Polish lecturer Kamila Szczepanowska, with the support of the Head of the International Relations Department, Nino Chalabashvili visited IBSU and conducted lectures on labour law for undergraduate law students.
In a bid to deepen the ties in the direction of international relations and research, the parties planned various activities. At the end of the project, the Dean, Prof. Irakli Shamatava handed certificates to the students.
