INTRODUCTION
14 th International Silk Road Conference will be organized in Tbilisi, Georgia, October 11-12, 2019. Gathering
of top professionals in the fields of Politics, Journalism, Economics, Public Administration, Law, Business,
Technology, and History will cater for a wholesome environment dedicated to practices, challenges and
opportunities we are experiencing in a globalized world.
The conference will provide its distinguished participants with a unique chance to initiate discussion on
important global and regional events and urgent problems.
We invite proposals for paper presentations, and posters/exhibits addressing one of the following themes:
THEME 1 – POLITICS
The topics may include:
Journalism: Human rights and media; The topic of Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia in the local media;
Pro-Russian propaganda in Georgian media; Strategies for spreading fake news;
Economics: New tendencies in the global economy; Determinants of international competitiveness of
economies, regions, branches, industries and enterprises; Economic reforms and policies; International labor
mobility, unemployment, international migration, emigration problems, pension reforms across the countries,
currency devaluation
International Relations: Hybrid Security Challenges and Transformation of War; Europeanization: The
External Dimension; Globalization vs Fragmentation? Local Struggles and Global Challenges; Rising Powers
and the Challenges to current World Order; South Caucasus: Domestic Developments and External Actors.
Public Administration and State Governance: Public sector reforms across the Caucasus: best practices and
challenges; Open Government Partnership in the Caucasus; Civic Engagement in Public Policy-making in the
Caucasus region; Political system: general trends of development the presidential and parliamentary
governance; Party politics: nature of political parties and party systems; Election systems, behavior of
electorate and political communication; Political culture, political involvement, activism and social
movements.
THEME 2 – LAW
The topics may include: Labor and Consumer Regulations (Their Impact on Economic Growth; Legal Trends
in Consumer Protection; Legal Aspects of Financial Market Regulations (Development Perspectives; Credit
Regulation Systems; Taxation Custom Systems); Corporate Governance Regulation Perspectives (Legal
Issues in Insurance; Working Hours Regulation Systems; Legal Mechanisms of Doing Business; Perspective
of Reform of Regulations on Tour-Packages)
THEME 3 – BUSINESS
The topics may include: Business and Business Management; Marketing; Finance; Accounting and Audit;
Tourism

and globalization)
DEADLINES
Full Papers – September 13, 2019. We welcome the submission of presentation proposals at any time of the
year. All proposals will be reviewed within two to three weeks of submission.
Abstracts – August 23, 2019.
Registration: September 13, 2019.
To submit your full paper or abstract, please email it as an attachment (acceptable formats are .doc and .docx)
to silkroad@ibsu.edu.ge (please indicate "SR2019" in the subject line of your message so that we process
submissions faster). Authors will be notified of the review outcome within 2-3 weeks after the arrival of their
submissions.

Georgia welcomes many nationalities through a visa-free regime. However, please check www.evisa.gov.ge
for specific visa requirements (if any).

The regular registration fee is $50 for international participants and GEL50 for local participants.
