INTRODUCTION
International Black Sea University is organizing 4th International Conference on History, Art,
Literature and Culture in South Caucasus and Black Sea Region, together with our partner universities,
namely: Gori State Teaching University, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli
State University and Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University.
The Conference is organized in the framework of Science and Innovation Festival 2019, under the
auspices of Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and aims to bring together
researchers, practitioners and policy makers to discuss issues, tackle real challenges, develop
professionally, share opinions, find solutions and explore opportunities in the areas of history, art,
literature and culture in Black Sea Region and South Caucasus.
We invite proposals for paper presentations, and posters/exhibits addressing one of the following
themes:
THEME 1 – History
The topics may include:
Theory of History; Historiography; History of Economy, Trade and Work; History of Intercultural
Dialogue, Cities and Travel; History of Politics; History of Emotions, Habits, Lifestyle; History of
Ideology, Belief and Representation; Documentation and Archives.
THEME 2 – Art
History of Art; Classic Arts; Modern Arts; Visual Arts; Literary Arts; Performing Arts; Arts Criticism.
THEME 3 – Literature
Classic Literature; Contemporary Literature; Comparative Literature; Children’s Literature; Literary
Theories; Poetry and Prose Drama and Dramaturgy.
THEME 4 – Culture
Cultural Studies; Cultural heritage in South Caucasus and Black Sea Region; Mythology and Ancient
Cultures; Multiculturalism; Cultural Changes; Mass Culture; Cultural Anthropology; Cultural Industry;
Popular Culture; Cultural Diversity; Culture Shock; Cultural Assimilation; Cultural Conflict
Resolution; Intercultural Communications; Folk Culture.

Full papers – August 30, 2019.
Conference – September 27-28, 2019.
All proposals will be reviewed within two to three weeks of submission. Please submit your abstracts
through the REGISTRATION button on the website and send your full papers to halc@ibsu.edu.ge in
Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format indicating HALC2019 in the subject line. Authors will be
notified of the review outcome within 2-3 weeks after the arrival of their submissions.
