IBSU is participating in Human Rights Law University Week with two public lectures – “Social Media and Freedom of Speech and Expression” and “Protection of Working Conditions and Restrictions Related to the Pandemic”.
On December 8, the panel discussion entitled “Protection of Working Conditions and Restrictions Related to the Pandemic” will be conducted by Beka Peradze, Labor Inspector, Raisa Liparteliani, Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Trade Unions and Goga Kikilashvili, Associate Professor at the International Black Sea University.
On December 9, the public lecture entitled “Social Media and Freedom of Speech and Expression” will be delivered by Natia Kapanadze, a Lawyer, Media Expert, Coordinator of the Coalition for Media Advocacy.

Universal recognition of human rights is one of the most important steps in the history of mankind and is the basis of freedom, justice and universal peace. Therefore, the participation of our university lecturers and students in the University Human Rights Week is important in terms of ensuring peaceful coexistence of the society, in-depth understanding of the principles of democracy and its establishment in practice” said Ketevan Kokorashvili, Dean of IBSU Faculty of Law.
14 Georgian universities are participating in the University Human Rights Law Week, which has been held online for the second year due to the pandemic. This year, the week will be held on December 2-10.
The aim of the University Human Rights Week is to spread knowledge about problematic human rights issues among students and young people and to actively exchange ideas and opinions on human rights law through the cooperation of universities.
University Human Rights Law Week is supported by the Rule of Law in Georgia (USAID-PROLoG) program initiated by United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
