On 1 June 2017, the Faculty of Social Science organized a Graduate Conference “Global Governance” in the scope of the teaching process within three courses of Comparative Politics, Introduction to Political Science and Theories of International Relations delivered by Dr Nino Kereselidze. 

The aim of the Conference was to showcase independent research conducted by over 80 graduate students for their midterm papers in the short period of time, with particular focus on research interviews and over 90 surveys, going beyond the literature review and document analysis methods, which was quite remarkable particularly for the first year undergraduates.

The rector of International Black Sea University Prof. Dr. Ilyas Ciloglu opened the Conference emphasising the importance of the research and awarded the participants with certificates. As a keynote speaker of the Conference, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN International Maritime Organization in 2009-2013 HE Mr Giorgi Badridze delivered a speech on the Brexit and its consequences on the EU.

The Conference proceeded with the state-of-the-art format of the pair and group lightingtalks with the parallel poster and handout presentations on the array of the global governance matters including security, sovereignty, federalism, media manipulation, transnational corporations, planetary urbanization as well as theoretical standpoints on socialism, postcollonialism and gender reflecting the diversity of the research within the faculty.
