On October 15th, Junior students of the Bachelor Program of Journalism at Black Sea International University conducted a journalistic expedition in Stepantsminda, under the supervision of Oliko Tsiskarishvili, a lecturer of the course ‘Covering social issues’. Students visited Zhinvalhes, where they received information about the history of the construction of Zhinvali hydroelectric power station and how it effects ecology and climate change.
Within the expedition students visited the Traventines of Datvijvari, which are granted the status of natural monument. The students also visited the territories affected by landslide in the Dariali Gorge, they met the local population in Stepantsminda and talked about their problems.
In the wake of the expedition, the photo and text reports will be prepared, as well as the analytical articles the best of which will be published on the website ekofact.com.
