Middle East Technical University 12th ELT Convention – Ankara/Turkey

12th International ELT Convention was held by the Department of Basic English at Middle East Technical University (ODTU) on May 25-26, 2015 in Ankara, Turkey. The convention takes place every two years and attracts many renowned scholars in ELT from all over the world. This year’s event was not an exception. Key-note speakers, Dr. Luke Prodromou, Dr. Deena Borai, Lindsay Clanfield, David Gibson, Dr. Suresh Canagarajah and Dr. Betil Eröz-Tuğa did create credentials of the convention making it an unforgettable experience for the participants. Concurrent sessions and workshops were highly informative and productive enhancing attendees’ knowledge and understanding of ELT issues. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikoloz Parjanadze and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sahiner from International Black Sea University, Tbilisi, Georgia presented their research findings on ‘Investigating EFL Learners’ Needs through Student Diversity Issues’. International Black Sea University provided BA English Philology senior year students of the Faculty of Education and Humanities Tinatin Mchedlidze, Ketevan Mchedlidze and Kamandar Teymurzada with a wonderful opportunity to attend the convention and gain experience for their future professional growth and career development.
