The lecture series “Caucasus in Focus: The Region Analysis in Interdisciplinary Lenses” initiated by the International Relations program of the Faculty of Social Sciences has been launched. The first meeting with the students was held by the vice-president of the Georgian Atlantic Council Mr. Batu Kutelia on November 12. He delivered the lecture on “The Foreign Policy Vectors of the South Caucasian Countries” in framework of which Mr. Kutelia reviewed the role and place of the three Caucasian states – Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia – in current international order. Conversation was about the positioning of them on international political arena in terms of their national interests as well as external influential factors. In the discussion format Mr. Kutelia reviewed the countries’ relations with the rest of the world, what peculiarities, interests and challenges they face in the proceeding process of the foreign policies, what are the core vectors of them in international organizations and how they react on the key international developments.
The lecture cycle will continue till December 17 encompassing the various actual issues about the Caucasus region through interdisciplinary analysis. After passing the course in case of attendance of minimum 7 meetings students will be awarded with the certificates.
