Luka Osiashvili a student of School of Computer Science and Architecture, Participated in the Erasmus+ Exchange Program of The HTW Dresden

Participating in the Erasmus+ exchange program in Dresden, Germany is a great honor for me. Through the partnership between International Black Sea University (IBSU) and HTW Dresden (University of Applied Sciences Dresden) I was given the opportunity to spend an exchange semester in the capital of Saxony.

Studying at one of the leading universities in Germany — and even in Europe — has been one of the many invaluable opportunities IBSU has provided me. With the support of the university, especially the International Relations Department, I not only ensured my academic and personal development, but I achieved such a great milestone and I was able to make a lifelong dream of mine come true. Thanks to their support, I was fortunate to experience life as an Erasmus+ exchange student.
At HTW Dresden I had the privilege to work alongside extremely qualified lecturers and professors. Their support and help were crucial for me during the integration process in the studies and getting used to the new environment. One of the greatest takeaways from practical work with them is to reevaluate many academic, personal and professional traits and establish a new view to them, which one might easily overlook, but are essential parts for self-improvement. I am glad that even the experience which I have gained in this short period, already helps me understand new topics and practical workflow much better, and I am looking forward to using and implementing them in Georgia and especially in IBSU.
Overall, I find the Erasmus+ exchange programs – and specifically this one – quite rewarding and beneficial. It gives participants chance to feel the life in a different way, to get familiar with the European education system and to try their best to enrich the Georgian system with only the best insights. Being able to live for quite a period alongside different culture really opens one’s mind and worldview.
On a personal level, time spent in Germany will stay as a lifelong memory. Participating in the exchange program is an unimaginable possibility for anyone, not only for academic or professional advancement, but also for growth as a person and as a citizen. I am extremely grateful for this experience and encourage others to take part in such opportunities.
