A Media Center is opened at the International Black Sea University
A media center has been opened at the International Black Sea University (IBSU), where students of journalism and mass communication will be able to do practical work.
The center, which includes the editorial room, the so-called Newsroom, TV and radio studios are equipped with studio and field video cameras, installation computers and other necessary stationary equipment.
According to the rector of International Black Sea University, Dr. Saffet Bayraktutan, the media center will help to increase the productivity of students, interesting programs will be recorded, reports, stories and interviews will be prepared. Journalism students, as well as students of other programs who are interested in media technologies, will be able to get practical experience at the media center.
Among the invited guests were Tinatin Berdzenishvili, General Director of the First Channel, Giorgi Tevdorashvili, Director of the “Palitra” Holding, Tamar Chigogidze, General Director of the “Fortuna” Radio Holding, Bondo Mdzinarishvili, a member of the Supervisory Board of the First Channel, media journalists and graduates of the program.
International Black Sea University invested more than 100,000 GEL in the media center. The undergraduate journalism program at IBSU was launched in 2014. Since 2020, the Master’s program entitled “Digital Media and Communication” has been accredited, which was developed under the mentorship of Richelle Rogers, head of the Doctoral and Master’s School of Loyola University, USA.
Currently, IBSU’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication has more than 100 graduates and up to 120 active students at undergraduate and graduate levels.
