IRO organized Dusheti Cultural Trip for international students

As part of an annual cultural trips and excursions program, the International Relations Office (IRO) organized a Cultural Trip to Dusheti, the Northern-East part of Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, for its international students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Fiji, Turkey, Greece, and Azerbaijan.

During the Trip, students visited the City Hall of Dusheti Municipality and received a warm welcome from the Mayor’s office including the Deputy of the City Council, Giorgi Aslamazishvili, Youth Council Chair Sopo Geliashvili, the Director of the Culture House, Tamar Mozdokeli and the Mayor Assistant, Khatia Pirmisashvili.

Mr. Melik Alkan, the IRO Head presented a gift on behalf of IBSU Rector Mr. Saffet Bayraktutan to the Mayor’s office, received by Mr. Giorgi Aslamazishvili.

The City Hall representatives stated their willingness to cooperate with IBSU in the framework of Cultural and Educational events. City Hall and its Cultural educational team organized a tour for international students in the city, including Ilia Chavchavadze house.

City Hall officially invited students to the cultural and educational event on the 26th of May, which marks the Independence Day of Georgia, in exchange, International students invited the Dusheti Youth Council and the City Hall to the Cultural festival which will be held on the 9th of June at IBSU campus.

In the second part of the day, students visited Bazaleti Lake. Giorgi Geliashvili, an IR student, and IRO intern invited the group to his house in a village nearby Dusheti, where students met with Giorgi’s family, tasted homemade food from Georgian cuisine, and experienced Georgian hospitality.
