The International Black Sea University hosted the international meeting of the Southeast European Regional Platform (SEEP). More than 70 students from Southeast European countries attended the opening event of the SEEP meeting.
The participants were welcomed by the representative of the European Union mission, Evia Kotani, deputy of the political department, ambassador of Greece to Georgia, Maria Theodorou, the rector of IBSU, Safet Bayraktutan, president of GAU, Michael Cowgill, as well as representatives of the Department of International Relations of Ilia State University, Tbilisi City Hall, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
The SEEP meeting is an annual ESN initiative organized by ESN Georgia. The meeting’s national representative was IBSU’s International Relation’s program student Tamta Chkhenkeli.
25 young Georgians were involved in the organization of the meeting. The initiative allows students to get to know each other, share knowledge, experience and develop skills. The event was held at the International Black Sea University and the Georgian-American University with the support of the International Black Sea University (IBSU), Georgian-American University (GAU), Ilia State University (ISU) and Tbilisi City Hall.
The event of this scale is the first one conducted in the ESN member countries of the Caucasus region. ESN (Erasmus Student Network) is the largest student-volunteer organization in Europe, which unites more than 15,000 volunteers from 41 countries under the principle of “students helping students.”
