Graphic Design (English-taught)

Program Objective

The program objectives are as follows:

– develop the student’s ability to creatively, functionally, and compositionally solve complex graphic tasks.

-provide the student with knowledge on creating brand visual identity (logo, typography, corporate style, flier, brochure, booklet, advertising posters) and packaging design (market research, price segment clarification, competitor analysis, label, gift and delivery design, etc.)

– teach the student traditional and digital graphics, creative color modeling, technical and professional skills, functional and creative aspects of visual communication, advertising, art history, and theory, the knowledge of which will be successfully applied per modern graphic design requirements.

– to provide students not only with theoretical knowledge but with practical experience as well by supporting them to organize practice in different enterprises. Develop professional communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, articulating the essence and idea of the project.

 

Admission Preconditions:

The entrant is enrolled in the bachelor’s educational program per the rules established by the legislation of Georgia – based on the results of the Unified National Examinations.
The main subjects to be passed are the Georgian language and English language. The third subject is Mathematics, History, Fine & Applied Arts. The minimum competency level for the English language: is 50%+1.

 

English-language graphic design program includes two components:

a) a portfolio presented by the candidate;
b) a “free composition” exam;

 

The portfolio presented by the candidate includes:

  1. Black and white graphic work – 3 (material – black pencil, ink, black felt-tip pen, the format of the work should not exceed A3);
  2. Work done in colors – 3 works. (Materials: watercolor, tempera, gouache, colored pencil, pastel, colored felt-tip pen, acrylic, the use of mixed media is allowed; the format of the work should not exceed A3);
  3. A free work that demonstrates his individual creative abilities – 3 works (the format of the work should not exceed A3);

Exam “Free Composition”:

  • free graphic (black and white) composition;
  • The work is completed in A3 format (material: black pencil, ink pen, black felt-tip pen);
  • The maximum total evaluation of works will be 48 points;

Register for creative contest

A person with a full general education has the right to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program. Enrollment in cases provided by law is possible per the rules established by law, without passing the Unified National Examinations. Tuition Fees:

For entrants who are enrolled via Unified National Exams: 4590 GEL
For entrants who are not enrolled via Unified National Exams: 4500 USD

Awarded Qualification: Bachelor of Graphic Design
