German professor conducting workshop for IBSU students met with the university rector

Mario Neugebauer, HTW Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Dresden, who conducts a workshop for IBSU students, met with the Rector of the University, Saffet Bayraktutan.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Rector of the University Tea Kbiltsetskhlashvili, Director of Graduated School Ilyas Ustunyer, Head of the International Relations Office Abdulmelik Alkan and Project Coordinator Mariam Razmadze.

Mr. Rector thanked the German guest for his interest in the project and said that the Computer Science program at the International Black Sea University is one of the most sought after and highly ranked in the country and that Mario Neugebauer’s master classes are an invaluable opportunity for program students to gain new knowledge and experience.

The project is conducted for fourth-year undergraduate and graduate students of the IBSU Computer Science Program. The workshop “Development of Remote Control Robot” started on September 13 and will end on September 24. For the first week, participants worked online. This week, the German professor will hold master classes for Georgian students at the IBSU campus.

The main topic of the joint workshop is the development of a remote control robot. It is based on Arduino, Raspberry and some sensor systems related to robot orientation and navigation functions. Part of the workshop is also to develop applications for Android devices to establish telecommunications with the robot.

About the Speaker: Professor Mario Neugebauer has been teaching adaptive portable systems at the University of Applied Sciences since 2019. The main areas of his teaching and research are the development of mobile applications, wireless networks and robotics. Prior to the University of Dresden, he worked at FH Zwickau (University of Applied Sciences) for five years and one year at FH Jena. He started his professional career after graduating from SAP Research, where he worked for Internet applications for business applications. Professor Neugebauer is a co-founder of three companies operating in the field of Internet Business, Innovative Web Applications and Robotics.
