A new project was initiated at the American Studies B.A. program by introducing a lecture on “American Novel” read by Assoc. Prof. George Shaduri and American Professor Ori Soltes from the Georgetown University. He acquainted students with literary criticism and various research topics of American novel. A series of such lectures has been planned.
According to TEMPUS MAHATMA project two students: Tinatin Khatiashvili and Teona Gudadze from the MA program in Higher Education Administration were chosen to go for a study visit to the Bath Spa University (UK). On November 11, 2014 Dr. James L. Thorson, Emeritus Professor from the U.S.A delivered a lecture to American Studies Direction students of the Faculty of Education & Humanities at IBSU on American Drama Topics: “Long Day’s Journey into Night”, “Glass Menagerie“; Death of the Salesman”.
According to TEMPUS MAHATMA project five students from Armenian State University of Economics from the MA program in Education Management were chosen to go for a study visit to IBSU. On November 24, 2014 the Dean of the Faculty of Education & Humanitites of the International Black Sea University Prof.Dr. Tamar Shioshvili, the vice dean Maia Samkanashvili and the assistant Lela Vanishvili visited Georgian American High School to make a memorandum for further cooperation between American Studies Department & the high school pupils.
