Public health experts conducted workshop on importance of vaccination for IBSU journalism program students

02.10.2024

Public health experts conducted a workshop on the importance of vaccination for International Black Sea University’s journalism undergraduate program students. The event was held within the framework of the project “Preparedness for Epidemics and Response to COVID-19 in Armenia and Georgia.”

The Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the Austrian Red Cross (AuRC), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) support the project. Speakers at the training discussed the need to inform the public about scheduled and unscheduled vaccination, the challenges of managing crises, and dispelling misconceptions about immunization.

At the end of the training, a closed competition was announced for the attending students. As part of the competition, students must prepare and submit journalistic materials about vaccination to the competition by November 30. Cash prizes are provided for the best journalistic materials; the winning media projects will be revealed by the Georgian Red Cross Society and international donor organizations in December of this year.
