Ambassador Bass to speak at International Black Sea University (April 18)

On Wednesday, April 18 at 2 p.m., Ambassador John R. Bass will visit International Black Sea University (IBSU) for a meeting with university administrators and to interact with students. The Ambassador will meet with Dr. S. Ercan Tunc, IBSU Rector; Dr. Giuli Alasania, Vice Rector; and other members of the IBSU administration.

The Ambassador will deliver remarks to IBSU students and professors, followed by a question and answer session for attendees.  Among other topics, Amb. Bass will discuss the soon-to-be released International Human Rights Report and why the United States supports human rights around the world.

The U.S. Embassy has enjoyed a productive cooperation with IBSU for many years. A number of the university’s faculty members and students have successfully participated in different U.S. Government-funded academic exchange programs, such as the UGRAD and U.S. Visiting Fulbright Scholar Program
