Professor

1. Doctor’s or equivalent academic degree in the relevant direction/field;
2. At least 6 (six) years of scientific-pedagogical work experience;
3. 3. During the last 5 (five) years, in the relevant direction, documents confirming at least 3 scientific activities, including 1 publication published in a refereed scientific journal.
4. 4. Knowledge of the relevant teaching language at least B2 level.

Associate Professor

1. Doctor’s or equivalent academic degree in the relevant direction/field;
2. At least 3 (three) years of scientific-pedagogical work experience;
3. During the last 5 (five) years, in the relevant direction, documents confirming at least 2 scientific activities, including 1 publication published in a refereed scientific journal.
4. Knowledge of the relevant teaching language at least B2 level.

Assistant Professor

1. Doctor’s or equivalent academic degree in the relevant direction/field;
2. During the last 5 (five) years, 1 publication published in the relevant scientific journal.
3. Knowledge of the relevant teaching language at least B2 level.

Assistant

1. PhD student in the relevant direction/field;
2. Knowledge of the relevant teaching language at least B2 level.

There is a possibility to obtain academic positions by qualified personnel, based on professional merit. In this case, the qualification of the candidate may be confirmed by the professional experience, special training and/or publications. The candidate may be considered as correspondingly qualified, if she/he has a qualification necessary for developing learning outcomes and meets the following criteria:

1. a) Holds at least Master’s or equivalent degree.

In order to obtain an academic position based on professional merit, qualification necessary for developing the learning outcomes are defined in accordance with the following criteria:

1. b) Work experience in the relevant field – at least 2 (two) years for assistant, at least 4 (four) years for an assistant professor, at least 6 (six) years for an associate professor and at least 8 (eight) years for a professor;
2. c) Publications published in refereed scientific or professional journals in the last 5 (five) years in the relevant field – at least one publication for an associate professor, at least two publications for a professor, or special training in the relevant field, which is confirmed by his/her professional experience;
3. d) Knowledge of the relevant teaching language (at least B2 level).

Applicants must submit the following documents (in hard copies and electronic form) to the University:

1. Job Application (please see the attached document);
2. Copy of identity card/ID card (in case of foreign citizen, notarized translation of passport/copy of residence permit (if any);
3. Georgian language diploma and/or a notarized translation of a diploma/certificate issued by a foreign country. If the diploma has not yet been issued, it is necessary to submit the certificate of graduation. In addition, the diploma issued by a foreign country must be recognized in accordance with the legislation of Georgia and a notarized copy of the document confirming the recognition must be presented;
4. Certificate of scientific-pedagogical activity;
5. CV in Georgian and English;
6. List of scientific works and publications relevant to the field and their copies (within the last 5 years);
7. Syllabus;
8. Certificate from the former/current job (except International Black Sea University);
9. Document/certificate confirming participation in trainings and conferences (if any);
10. A copy of the international certificate confirming the language proficiency level of the foreign program/study course/a copy of the document confirming the higher education received in the relevant foreign language (if necessary). In the case of a document issued in a foreign language – a notarized translation and copy or a document confirming the conduct of lecture courses in the relevant language;
11. Other documentation corresponding to the established criteria for the vacancy of an academic position;
12. In case of holding an academic position with a professional designation, documents confirming the professional designation;
13. In the case of a document issued in a non-state language (except for certificates), it is mandatory to submit a notarized Georgian translation.

Short listed candidates should additionally submit:

• Police Clearance Certificate for crime against sexual freedom and inviolability and Certificate of deprivation of right;
• 2 photos (3×4) – printed version as well as electronic (on CD or email);
• Account from Bank of Georgia;
• Hard copies/originals of all electronically submitted documents.

It is recommended that the selected candidates sign an affiliation agreement with the university.
